One of Sebastian Mihăilescu's experiments with image algorithms – "automatic cinema," as he calls it – A THOUSAND THINGS uses two automatic image detectors to deconstruct – or rather reconstruct – a speech by Ion Iliescu, Romania's first elected president, given in Washington in 1995.
